Are you considering plastic surgery, but you’re not sure if it’s right for you? Maybe you’re worried that the surgery won’t have the desired effect, or that the results will look unnatural. What can be helpful is looking at plastic surgery before and after photos. You’ll see how the procedures improved patients’ appearance. Read on to see how the Royal Centre of Plastic Surgery has helped these patients look and feel better.
As we age, our body changes. Many of these changes take place on our faces. The skin on our face begins to loosen. Fine lines can turn into deeper wrinkles, especially around the eyes. Fat deposits in the face can migrate downwards, creating a “double chin.”
A facelift is a surgical procedure that helps patients appear younger by altering visible signs of aging. During a facelift, the surgeon repositions and tightens underlying muscles and tissues. The plastic surgeon will make tiny incisions near the hairline and behind the ear, which won’t be visible to the untrained eye.
Below, you can see before and after pictures of one of Dr. Dickie’s patients.
After the surgery, the skin under the patient’s skin is tighter. Her eyes look wider and more awake, making her look more youthful.
Tummy Tuck Patients
How many times have you seen someone with washboard abs and felt a pang of jealousy? For some people, diet and exercise help them achieve a flat, well-toned stomach. Others are not so lucky. No matter how hard they work, they cannot get rid of the excess weight around their middle.
A tummy tuck (also known as an abdominoplasty) refers to surgery that tightens and reshapes the abdominal area. The surgeon also removes excess skin. After the patient recovers, his or her midsection looks flatter, smoother and more toned.
Below is a picture of one of Dr. Dickie’s patients who has undergone a tummy tuck.
Before the surgery, there was excess fat and skin on the patient’s stomach. Afterwards, her stomach looks flatter and she appears thinner.
Nose Job Patients
Your nose is one of the most prominent features on your face. Some people feel that their noses stand out a little too much, though.
Other people have problems breathing due to structural problems inside their nose. These structural problems can be a result of nature or injury.
A nose job (also known as rhinoplasty) is a surgery that reshapes the patient’s nose. The surgeon lifts the skin to rearrange the bone and cartilage underneath. Then, he or she re-drapes the skin over the new shape. After the surgeon completes the procedure, he or she places a splint over the patient’s nose in order to maintain its new contours during the healing process.
The pictures below illustrate how the appearance of Dr. Dickie’s patient changed after she underwent rhinoplasty.
Before the surgery, there was a bony projection on the patient’s nose. As a result of the surgery, the patient’s nose is now smoother and less angular. Her nose is more balanced in relation to the rest of her face.
Facial Implant Surgery
Sometimes, people have other features that they wish were more prominent. They feel as though some of their facial features are too small or slight.
Facial implants enhance these features. A surgeon inserts them into pockets between the skin and bone on the patient’s face. There are three types of facial implants available: chin, cheek and jaw. Patients who undergo facial implant surgery have more balanced facial proportions and contours.
Below are before and after pictures from one of Dr. Dickie’s facial implant patients.
The patient’s chin is much more prominent after the surgery. Her profile is balanced and harmonious.
