Top 3 Treatments To Make You Look Younger

1. Botox

There are tons of products to make you look younger available to buy, but no list of best products for younger looking skin would be complete without Botox treatment.

Botox has been around since the late 1980s, but is proving more popular than ever, more than 30 years after it was invented.

This safe easy procedure involves injections being made into your forehead and around the eyes. The injections temporarily paralyse the muscles in these parts of the face, blocking the signals from the nerve, meaning the muscles can’t contract. This causes the wrinkles in this area to relax and soften.

Botox injections are priced per unit and you can normally expect to pay between $10 and $20 for each one. A surgeon will normally recommend between 10 and 20 units per session for optimum results.

The procedure should only take 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the number of units ordered. Typically, patients can leave the surgery and carry on going about their day without any pain or side-effects.

However, there is a risk of bruising, swelling and soreness on some occasions. This typically dies down after a few days. The results of Botox can mirror those achieved by more invasive surgical procedures, although they are only temporary. If you want the results to last, you’ll need to visit the surgeon for top-up injections every 6-12 months.

2. Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are another type of injection which can soften wrinkles, giving the impression of more youthful skin. These injections target the wrinkles around the cheeks and mouth, rather than the top half of the face. For this reason, many patients will visit cosmetic surgeries for Botox and dermal fillers at the same time.

Fillers are collagens which are injected underneath the first layer of the skin to fill the gaps caused by wrinkles. These wrinkles become less visible helping the patient to appear much younger.

Natural fillers are the safest type to use, as they are made from molecules produced naturally by the body. This means there is a less chance of an allergic reaction. The results of natural dermal fillers typically fade within 6-12 months. Similarly to botox, the procedure is simple and fuss-free enough that patients don’t mind going back again and again. You can expect to pay between $600 and $1,000 for this type of treatment. Synthetic fillers are more expensive but the results tend to last longer. There are greater risks of complications with these types of fillers though.

Dermal fillers can also to make thin lips appear plumper, improve the shape of cheek bones. or  enhance the shape of cheeks or to improve skin damaged by scarring.

3. Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion involves a small machine that adds tiny crystals to your skin. These crystals exfoliate the skin, removing the dead layer of skin from your face better than any cream available in shops.

This non-invasive treatment is available in spas, surgeries, or from a dermatologist. There are smaller less powerful machines available to buy, ranging from $100 to $300. It’s one of the most cost-effective tools for fantastic-looking skin at any age.

The machines available in spas and surgeries are typically more expensive and can leave your skin looking fresh and glowing for months. Beauty-obsessed fanatics often schedule microdermabrasion appointments a couple of months apart, while using the at-home machines for a top-up in the meantime.

The hand-held device is a great tool to keep skin feeling smooth and to speed up the removal of spots, although its impact on wrinkles is minimal. It would make a great birthday gift for any female feeling a bit sad about becoming another year older.
